The AHG Japanese Curry Paste is an aromatic seasoning paste from Taiwan, specially made for the popular Japanese dish Kare Raisu (curry rice) was developed. With a finely balanced mixture of onions, honey, ginger, garlic and traditional spices such as turmeric, cumin and cinnamon, it gives your dishes a mild, spicy-sweet note - without any artificial taste.

👨‍🍳 Preparation & consumption recommendations

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a hot pan, add 200 g chicken or beef and 100 g finely chopped onions and fry for 1 minute. Then add 440 ml water, the AHG curry paste, 250 g potatoes and 100 g carrots (chopped into small pieces). Simmer uncovered for 15 minutes, then thicken with flour mixed in water and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve hot with rice.

What is Kare Raisu?
Kare Raisu is the quintessential Japanese national dish - a hearty, mildly spicy curry dish served with rice. Unlike Indian curries, the Japanese version is sweeter, thicker in consistency and less spicy - ideal for children and sensitive eaters.

The AHG Japanese Curry Paste easily brings this taste home. As a concentrated seasoning paste, it develops its full range of flavors when cooking and gives meat or vegetable dishes an authentic Japanese touch. Particularly practical: With just a few ingredients and a little water, you can make a complete main dish in just 20 minutes.

This paste is not vegan, not halal and not gluten-free - but does not contain any dairy products and is therefore suitable for many everyday dishes in Asian cuisine. Originally from Taiwan, it is produced by the experienced brand AHG (Asian Home Gourmet), which specializes in Asian seasoning products for the European market.

🥘 Kare Raisu with chicken, potatoes and carrots

Preparation:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan.
  2. Fry 200 g diced chicken and 100 g onions.
  3. Add 440 ml water, 1 pack of AHG Curry Paste, 250 g potatoes and 100 g carrots.
  4. Simmer for 15 minutes, thicken with a little flour-water mixture.
  5. Serve hot with steamed rice.

🌱 Tofu kare with vegetables and jasmine rice

Preparation:

  1. Fry tofu cubes (200 g) in a little oil until crispy.
  2. Add onions, carrots and peppers as desired.
  3. Bring the water and the curry paste to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Serve with rice and fresh coriander.
